Ethic Webpages

Helpful Webpages for Understanding Disabilities and Library Accessibility   Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies http://www.ala.org/ascla/ This webpage is very helpful for understanding ways we can be more accessible to those with disabilities and challenges. It also gives professional tools and tips for making your library friendlier to those with disabilities.   I picked this webpage because I think it will be a site that is beneficial to all libraries whether you are public, special, etc. The ALA website is also very commonly used so it will be familiar to most users. The ARC (for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities) https://www.thearc.org/ This is a great webpage to use for understanding the different disabilities out there. Also, if you are wanting information about resources out there for disabled folks. Also, they have webinars and tools for understanding how to be more accessible to these patrons. Cent...

Ethics Interview

Interview                 For my paper, I interviewed the director of the Marble Falls Public Library. He/she grew up in Marble Falls and is very familiar with the people and area. Saltz tells stories of many famous geniuses that have had different kinds of disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, etc. Saltz dives into the idea that some of the disabilities can be associated with great talents and minds. He explains that many individuals that have problems with school, social settings, etc. may be very creative in other aspects such as art, math, etc. Reasons for addin...
